SMU President Professor Arnoud De Meyer answered many questions about SMU and his own experiences in an extensive up-close-and-personal interview with Xinhuanet. He shared about the kinds of educational programmes SMU has to offer, how SMU is different from other universities and the kinds of students it is looking for. He also shared the reasons for setting up SMU’s China Initiatives and the existing collaboration programmes with universities in China, as well as his long-term strategy for China. He then went on to comment on other topics such as how Chinese universities have changed over the years, and how they are different from their Singapore counterparts.
