Public Service 'embracing diversity, redefining meritocracy'

In an open letter on the Public Service Commission website yesterday, its Chairman Eddie Teo detailed the efforts made to enhance diversity among public servants in response to the changing education system, a different make-up of the population and growing complexity of national problems. Commenting on the efforts, SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan said: “Change will be most prominent at the entry level through the scholarship selection process but the change must work its way up the leadership chain and [be] reinforced down the chain of command.”
