PM Lee: Strengthening bilateral ties between Singapore and Xinjiang will benefit both parties

Ms Christin Tan and her husband helped 17 SMU students develop the Kashgar Project in 2011, and this has resulted in the establishment of the Kashgar Uyghur Cultural Centre.  Assistant Director  of SMU’s Centre for Social Responsibility Emily Hogan said that the project has gained popularity among SMU students, with 110 participating in the past three years. On Thursday, the university signed a memorandum of understanding with Kashgar Teachers’College (KTC) to hold annual English Week programmes for the 11,000 KTC students from next year onwards.
