NUS had sent study teams to British and US universities this year, as part of its efforts to review its disciplinary procedures. This was in light of the various scandals its students had been involved in last year, and a move to ensure that NUS stays relevant with the times. When interviewed, both SMU and NTU said that they conduct regular reviews of their Students’ Code of Conduct and Guidelines for Online Comments. SMU Students’ Code of Conduct is included in its Freshman’s Handbook, and carries seven main points, reminding students to be honest and courteous.
