Rules for public servants visiting casinos

SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan commented on the announcement that public servants on the government payroll who visit casinos frequently would have to declare it publicly. He described it is an attempt to strengthen trust in the Government and a pre-emptive measure to try to deal with concerns that casinos could cause government officials to neglect their public duties. He added that it demonstrates that the Government is serious about its no tolerance approach towards corruption. He also shared his thoughts on when the measure would be implemented and its effectiveness.
