Vivian Balakrishnan waives parliamentary privilege; Sylvia Lim and Pritam Singh are dishonest

On the waiver of parliamentary privilege by Environment and Water Resources Minister Vivian Balakrishnan for his statements regarding the hawker centre dispute between NEA, the Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council and hawkers, SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan commented that the minister had to make a gamble and dare the Worker’s Party to sue him for defamation for calling them dishonest, as his integrity as well as the NEA’s, were at stake.
