NUS students start Innocence Project to help vindicate innocent people

Innocence Project is an initiative started by the NUS Criminal Justice Club to help people who claim they have been wrongly sent to jail for a crime they did not commit. In conjunction with the launch of the project, a two-day Criminal Justice Conference was held from Sunday, and saw an attendance of about 70 lawyers and academics. The conference was jointly organised by the law societies of SMU, NUS and Temasek Polytechnic, and student representatives from these three institutions also attended the conference.
