Two Singaporean football icons - Fandi Ahmad and Terry Pathmanathan - were surprised when their names were used by the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) to promote the party’s policies, as they had never consented to endorsing the cause. SMU Assistant Professor of Law and NMP Eugene Tan said that, "Using them (Ahmad and Pathmanathan) to support the party’s case without their consent is an unethical act."
