Chee Soon Juan's bankruptcy annulled

SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan commented on the ongoing annulment of Chee Soon Juan's bankruptcy status. Assistant Prof Tan said that former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong's openness to accept settlement indicated their generosity and smarts. This would cause Mr Chee to lose his “martyr” status and force him to operate in a “conventional” political environment. Even though some people welcome the annulment, Mr Chee has lost a lot of time to sculpt his political image and attract more members to join his party. Assistant Prof Tan said that it remains to be seen how he would make up for the lost time.
