Third-year SMU undergraduates Loy Zhi Hao and Priscilia Soh were lauded by the Attorney-General last Friday for their suggestion to create a central agency that would be responsible for elder protection matters and with powers to investigate and intervene in suspected cases of elder abuse. The duo was the first-prize winners of the inaugural Law Reform Essay Competition conducted by the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) in collaboration with SMU. In addition to cash prizes, the winners also secured themselves a four-week internship with the AGC's Legislation and Law Reform Division.
