The Workers' Party held its Conference of Organisers on August 12 at the Party Headquarters. Sylvia Lim and Low Thia Khiang were re-elected as the Party Chairman and Secretary-General respectively. Political analyst and SMU Assistant Professor Eugene Tan commented that no prominent successor has surfaced within the Workers' Party, thus Lim and Low's re-election was within expectations. Moreover, the duo's strategy – one targeting the Chinese grassroots and the other targeting the English-speaking professionals have proved to be effective in the last General Elections, and will therefore remain unchanged in the short-term.
