Two new faces in the Cabinet

Two first-term politicians, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin and Mr Lawrence Wong, will be promoted to Acting Ministers in a Cabinet reshuffle. SMU Assistant Professor of Law and Nominated MP Eugene Tan said that the appointments “suggest that the pace of (leadership) renewal has quickened”. However, this was not surprising, given that the men were among those identified during the General Election as being slated for high political office.
