On the recent cabinet reshuffle, SMU Assistant Professor of Law and Nominated MP Eugene Tan said that the pace of leadership renewal has picked up since the General Elections last year. “The learning curve of the fourth generation of leaders will be steeper. The Prime Minister has given them more new responsibilities, reflecting his confidence in their abilities.” Prof Tan also commented on Grace Fu's promotion to Second Minister for Foreign Affairs. He said that together with Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency MP Indranee Rajah (the other woman politician who was promoted), she represents the significant role women now play in Singapore's political arena.
