Record numbers vie for places at SIT, Singapore's fifth public university, and the University is a hit with polytechnic graduates. The article also gave an overview of the offerings at SMU, NUS and NTU. SMU started in 2000 and was modelled after the Wharton Business School in the United States. The University offers six bachelor degree programmes including business, accountancy, social sciences and law. Currently, its undergraduate enrolment is close to 7,000.
