SMU Assistant Law Professor Eugene Tan said the weekend and it being a mid-point of the by-election campaign, will attract crowds to the rallies. It will also allow the candidates to put forth their main political agenda. He felt also that the last day of the campaign, one day before the cooling day is appropriate to hold rallies, as it will push the by-election campaign to a climax and parties will also have the opportunity to rebut claims from their opponents. Assistant Professor Eugene Tan felt that there is no need for Desmond Choo to ask MPs or Ministers to support him during rallies, as his speech would be more important. He said, ?With ministers on stage, the focus will go back to national issues.?
