SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan shared his views on the potential candidates whom Workers' Party may field at the by-election. He commented that Koh Choong Yong is a possible candidate. Hougang constituent comprise mainly of Teochews and Koh can earn brownie points as he speaks the Teochew dialect. Among other comments, he also shared that although the selection criteria of candidates may be criticised, there is no perfect criteria. Voters will take a balanced view on the matter.
