The top three universities of Singapore, namely NTU, SMU and NUS plan to increase tuition fees for academic year 2012 in light of higher cost of providing quality education. Singaporeans at NUS will see a fee hike of around 4% to SG$7,460 for the academic year 2012-13, or a yearly increase of 1.6%. Those with NTU will have to pay fees 4-6% above the sum their seniors have paid with the course of study determining the amount and the incoming cohort at SMU will see a tuition fee increase of around 5%.
