Nine NMPs appointed

Nine Singaporeans, which included SMU Assistant Professor Eugene Tan, had been appointed Nominated Members of Parliament (NMPs) by the government last Thursday. Professor Tan said it was a privilege and an honour to be appointed as an NMP and added that he hoped to use his non-partisan standpoint to bring forth views that might not be expressed by the three political parties represented in Parliament.
