Alumni from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are preparing to hold their first meeting in Singapore, the two-day Pan-IIT Apac 2012 conference, next week. A round-table discussion between 12 visiting directors of the IITs and academic leaders from NUS, SMU, NTU and SUTD will also be held. SMU's Provost and Deputy President for Academic Affairs, Dr Raj Srivastava, who is a 1972 IIT graduate, said that they would be ?exploring how Singapore could also act as a landing spot for those IITs that are interested in expanding their reach into South-east Asia and collaborating with universities in the region.?
