Lim Boon Heng, Special Advisor to People's Association (PA) Chairman, has been roped in to provide advice on Aljunied's grassroots matters, and has started to identify suitable candidates to be the grassroots consultant, a position traditionally undertaken by an MP. SMU's Associate Professor of Law, Eugene Tan, remarked that if the ruling parting wishes to win back Aljunied GRC through the ‘bottom-up' approach, it will have to appoint its grassroots consultant early, and allow the candidate enough time to work with the grassroots.
