Singapore is considering improvements to corporate-governance standards for companies listed in the country as it seeks to bolster its image as an investor-friendly nation. Assistant Professor Eugene Tan said the changes, if adopted, would send a "feel-good signal" and show that Singapore is trying to enhance corporate-governance standards, in keeping abreast of global best practices. He shared that Singapore's standards are comparable with the best in the western economies but Singapore must recognize that investors and investment funds have been concerned about corporate governance.
