Commenting on the former swim queen being the “quietest†among the nine Nominated Members of Parliament (NMPs) of the last Parliament, SMU assistant professor Eugene Tan opined that NMPs should engage in parliamentary debates on various issues more actively and seize every opportunity that were given for them to articulate their views or argument. He felt that overall, the performance of the last cohort was not as impressive as their predecessors, although the no. of inquisitions and speeches made was comparable to the earlier batches of NMPs. He also singled out Mr Viswa Sadasivan as the most outstanding NMP.
