Gradual improvement in the ability to grapple with international trade regulations

This year marks the 10th anniversary of China's accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO). At a recent WTO symposium held at the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT), Dean Zhang Lei of SIFT's WTO College and Dr Henry Gao, SMU's International Trade Law expert both observed that  the China's foreign trade during the past 10 years had been characterised by high growth. They suggested that moving forward, China should seek to actively utilise international trade regulations and even to formulate such policies.
