Board of trustees chairman Ho Kwon Ping urged business schools to take a more critical view of themselves in a keynote address at the 12th International Conference of the Society for Global Business and Economic Development held here last week. Professor Howard Thomas, dean of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business agreed that business schools need to do more to instil in their students ethics, corporate responsibility and governance, and pointed out that SMU's compulsory 80 hours of community service that each student must complete to graduate is a step towards developing the students into responsible leaders.
