Assistant professor of law Eugene Tan thinks that the presidential election could result in a three-cornered fight which could work to Mr Tan Kin Lian's advantage if voters assessed the presidential candidates through politically-tinted lenses, or lead to the next president being elected without an absolute majority. He also suggests that pro-establishment votes could be split between Dr Tony Tan and former Ayer Rajah MP Tan Cheng Bock.
