Gan Thiam Poh used to work for $2.50 an hour

PAP new face Gan Thiam Poh knows all about poverty, having been there before. Having worked as a grassroots volunteer at Potong Pasir for 15 years, he is widely speculated to take over Sitoh Yih Pin to run for Potong Pasir. Asst Prof Eugene Tan however, thinks that it is not likely that PAP will field a new face there and is likely to continue with Mr Sitoh as the voting gap between Mr Sitoh and Mr Chiam has closed over the last few elections.
