Budget round the corner, citizens make outlandish requests

As 18 February 2011, the day of the Budget announcement, draws near, Singaporeans have flooded REACH the official feedback channel for citizens to air their views and suggestions on Government policies and national issues - with outrageous requests, These include asking for three days' leave for singles to go out and meet other singles and free transport, education and medical care for all Singaporean children until the age of 18. Eugene Tan, Assistant Professor of Law at the Singapore Management University, noted that people are taking advantage of the fact that this is the Elections year to demand more goodies from the government.
