Are young Singaporeans unfilial, leading to a need for their elderly parents to work to fend for themselves?

Said Assistant Professor of Sociology Chung Wai-Keung: ?Hong Kong and Taiwan both have good welfare schemes to support the elderly. If the elderly receives a specific sum of money each month to tide them through, the need for them to work would be largely decreased. Singapore could consider including some of these favourable measures into its current policies.?
