Singapore Cabinet changes from 1 Nov

Observers say the Cabinet changes reflect the continued process of political renewal. Assistant Professor Eugene Tan said: "I think there was a long term plan to renew the leadership at the Ministry of Home Affairs, so when Mr K Shanmugam was made second minister, that set the process the motion of change. You should see that as a transition in which the younger ministers are now taking over the leadership of the different ministries".
