SMU students shaken but safe

Six SMU students who had just arrived in Santiago , Chile to start their 5-month exchange programme at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, were shaken out of their sleep by the Chilean earthquake.  All six are safe and will start school a week later, cutting short their programme only if the situation is unsafe.
