The latest Customer Satisfaction Index of Singapore compiled by SMU's Institute of Service Excellence revealed that restaurants (food and beverage sector) scored 65.8 points, down 1.58 points from 2008 scores. Mr Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry & Ministry of Manpower, said that the food and beverage industry will have to undergo several phases and develop their human resources to stay competitive. The sector should also analyse international best practices and adopt new technologies in a bid to increase its customer satisfaction levels.
