Eugene Tan, Assistant Professor at the SMU School of Law, points out in his article, that by providing more information in a timely manner, policy-makers and newsmakers are better-placed to mould public opinion positively, avoid excessive defensiveness, and reinforce the commitment to good governance in the private, public and people sectors.
